Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Multi-Modality Radiology Technologist with 24+ months of CT experience and ARRT (CT) certification. The role centers on CT with some general radiology coverage across Iowa campuses, using Siemens and GE CT systems and Carestream portables.

The position requires BLS, IA license if applicable, EPIC EMR proficiency, and a valid driver's license. Shift pattern is Fri/Sat/Sun 3x12 hours, with travel between facilities and holiday considerations.

Qualifications

• ARRT CT certification is required.
• BLS certification required (AHA or ARC).
• Active IA radiology license if applicable.
• Minimum 24 months CT experience; hospital/medical center preferred.
• Minimum 12 months X-Ray experience.
• Proficient with Siemens CT and GE CT; Carestream portable experience.
• EPIC EMR experience; contrast administration experience.
• Level II trauma experience required; Level I highly preferred.
• Shift includes Fri/Sat/Sun 3x12 hours; travel between campuses.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to live within 50 miles.

Responsibilities

• CT Scan unit with primary focus on CT and occasional general radiology.
• Floating across Iowa Lutheran, Methodist West, and Iowa Methodist Medical Center campuses.
• Patient population includes all ages; shifts vary.
• Work Fri/Sat/Sun 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hrs/week.
• Use Siemens CT, Siemens radiography equipment, GE CT, and Carestream portable devices.
• Document using EPIC EMR; perform contrast administration with power injectors.
• No weekend or on-call beyond the Fri/Sat/Sun schedule; Level II trauma setting.
• CT and occasional general radiology procedures across multiple campuses.
• Expected to work 1–2 of the upcoming Winter holidays unless unit is closed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 24 months experience in CT/Computed Tomography required, hospital or medical center experience prioritized
• Minimum of 12 months experience in X-Ray required
• Proficient experience using Siemens CT and Siemens fixed radiographic equipment required
• Proficient experience using GE CT required
• Recent/current experience with Carestream portables required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with contrast administration required
• Experience with power injection contrast injectors preferred
• Level II trauma experience required
• Recent Level I trauma experience highly preferred
• Recent stroke imaging experience preferred
• Experience working with all age groups required, shift dependent
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

Responsibilities

• CT Scan unit with primary focus on CT and occasional General Radiology depending on assigned shift and campus
• Iowa Methodist is the home base facility with floating required across Iowa Lutheran, Methodist West, and Iowa Methodist Medical Center campuses
• Patient population includes all age groups, varying by shift
• Varied shift schedule working Fri, Sat, Sun as 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hrs/week
• Scheduled to work the same or similar shift (day/night) across the assigned Fri/Sat/Sun rotation without flip-flopping
• Schedules are established in 4-week increments, sometimes longer
• Uses Siemens CT, Siemens fixed radiographic equipment, GE CT, and Carestream portable equipment
• Utilizes power injection contrast injectors
• Documents using EPIC EMR
• No weekend or on-call requirements beyond the standard Fri/Sat/Sun schedule
• Level II trauma center setting
• Perform CT and occasional general radiology procedures across multiple campuses
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) cannot work travel assignments in another market regardless of current or prior facility within the past 12 months; this restriction does not apply if prior work was as a travel contractor at UPH
