Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Radiology Technologist in Charleston, SC for a 7-week night shift. You must hold ARRT (R) certification, SCRQSA licensure, and a SC (or compact) license with BLS certification. Cerner EMR experience is used for charting and patient care responsibilities accompany the role.

The schedule is 4×10 hour nights Monday through Thursday, with call and holiday coverage; travel and supervision of students are included, along with safety protocols and documentation duties.

Qualifications

  • ARRT Radiography (R) certification required.
  • SCRQSA Radiographer Certification required.
  • BLS through the American Heart Association required.
  • Active SC or compact license required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform and teach radiologic exams to produce diagnostic images.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.
  • License required if applicable.
  • High school diploma / GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Radiology department setting.
  • 7-week assignment.
  • Schedule: Mon-Thu 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM, 4x10 hour shifts, 40 hours per week.
  • Includes call and holiday coverage.
  • Uses Cerner EMR for charting.
  • May float to a sister hospital nearby.
  • Perform radiologic procedures under medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols.
  • Responsible for patient care and safety during imaging procedures using age-appropriate care.
  • Assist in clinical education and supervision of student Radiologic Technologists.
  • Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent.
  • Communicate with radiologists regarding procedures and maintain accurate documentation in the computer system.
  • Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles and established DHEC/TJC guidelines.
  • Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius.
  • Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment.
