Required Qualifications

• Current Radiologic Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high‑quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate and effective diagnostic results.

Essential Work Functions

• Educate patients about imaging procedures and address questions
• Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture diagnostic images according to physician orders
• Maintain equipment and sterilize the procedure room
• Evaluate image quality, present images, and provide preliminary findings to physicians and the health care team
• Maintain and inspect imaging equipment for proper functionality, troubleshoot issues, and report malfunctions as needed
• Document all imaging procedures and technical details accurately in patient records
• Follow hospital safety rules and procedures, including infection control and radiation safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiologic Technologist practice

Required Essential Skills

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficient PC skills
• Physical Abilities – able to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal Skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel to maintain a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor Skills – fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, and moving during procedures and equipment use
• Mental Requirements – handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently, and maintain concentration on detail
• Sensory – possess visual acuity and effective communication
