Qualifications

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist is required.
• Current Radiologic Technologist/Radiography license in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) is required.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions.
• Prepare and operate radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images.
• Maintain equipment and sterilize the room.
• Evaluate images for quality and present findings to physicians.
• Inspect imaging equipment and report malfunctions.
• Document imaging procedures in patient records.
• Follow safety rules including infection control and radiation safety protocols.
• Perform other duties within Radiologic Technologist scope.

Summary

The Radiologic Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures using radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images that aid physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. They ensure patient safety, maintain equipment functionality, and collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver accurate diagnostic results.

Essential Work Functions

• Educate patients about imaging procedures and answer questions
• Prepare and operate advanced radiologic equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images according to physician orders
• Maintain equipment and sterilize the room in which procedures take place
• Evaluate images for quality, present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the health care team
• Maintain and inspect imaging equipment for proper functionality, troubleshoot issues and report malfunctions as needed
• Document all imaging procedures and technical details accurately in patient records
• Follow hospital safety rules and procedures including infection control and radiation safety protocols
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of Radiologic Technologist practice

Required Essential Skills

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with a variety of personnel to present a positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/Motor skills: grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
• Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally; handle irregular activity schedules occasionally; maintain continuous concentration to detail
• Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate
