Job Summary

Radiation Therapist. The Radiation Therapist administers ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with prescribed treatment plans. This position supports patient simulation, treatment preparation, basic patient care and education, treatment documentation, quality initiatives, and patient safety.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program; current license in the state of practice, if applicable; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; Radiation Therapist (RT(T)) certification in radiation therapy; required skill in radiation therapy.
• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions and patient identification, preparing treatment rooms and equipment, performing treatment simulations, documenting treatment parameters and patient care, monitoring patients for unusual reactions, maintaining equipment and supplies, completing quality-control and safety checklists, and escalating non-routine clinical concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider.
