Responsibilities

• Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts 7am–6pm
• 40 hours/week over 5 days with variable start times
• No regular on-call; possible weekend/holiday coverage
• May rotate to sister hospitals as needed
• Use Cerner EMR for charting/scheduling/documentation
• Perform simulations and fabricate immobilization devices
• Deliver prescribed radiation doses under Radiation Oncologist
• Maintain patient records for treatments and billing

Requirements

• Active SC or compact Radiation Therapist license required, if applicable
• ARRT Radiation Therapy (T) certification required
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association required
• High School Diploma/GED required
• Completion of formal radiation therapy training from an AMA-approved program required
• Minimum of 1 year relevant radiation therapy experience required, clinical internships may count
• Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, reaching, and intermittent lifting up to 50 lbs
• Strong manual dexterity and ability to work with precision in patient setup and dose delivery

Responsibilities

• Hospital Radiation Oncology department setting
• Monday through Friday schedule with 8-hour shifts occurring anywhere between 7am-6pm
• 40 hours per week over a five-day workweek with variable daily start/end times based on departmental needs
• No regular on-call requirements though occasional weekend or holiday coverage may be needed based on department needs
• May rotate to sister hospital locations as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR for charting, scheduling, and documentation
• Duties performed across simulator, treatment, exam rooms, dark room, and occasionally operating room or nursing units for radioactive implants
• Delivers prescribed radiation therapy doses under direction of a Radiation Oncologist
• Performs clinical simulations and fabricates custom immobilization devices such as blocks and molds
• Maintains accurate electronic medical records of treatments, doses, and billing information
• Educates patients on procedures and ensures comfort and safety during treatment
• Works closely with Radiation Oncologists, fellow Radiation Therapists, Physicists, and nursing staff
• Exposure to radiation, blood-borne pathogens, and other common healthcare hazards as part of daily duties
• Professional and neat appearance required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible, no local candidates accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date before requiring a break prior to a new assignment
