Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in Bedford, Virginia. You will support the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility and independence, with hands-on exercises and patient education.

Eligible candidates have PTA licensure and BLS. New grads are welcome; experience preferred. Competitive pay, benefits, and a supportive clinical team are provided by Fusion Medical Staffing.

Qualifications

• Valid PTA license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• PTA experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply.
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas; calibrate devices and prepare for sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises to improve mobility and balance.
• Observe patient performance and report progress to the supervising PT.
• Record patient treatment details and progress in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
• Collaborate with therapists and other healthcare professionals on patient care.
