Job summary

Focus Staff currently seeks a traveling Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in Glenn Dale, MD for a 13-week contract. The PTA will support a friendly, professional environment and work 5x8 shifts as a traveling staff member.

Candidates must hold a valid PTA license, have 2+ years of experience, and be willing to travel to various locations. Benefits include health insurance, 401K matching, licensing reimbursement, and nationwide staffing support.

Qualifications

• Must maintain valid state PTA license.
• At least 2 years of PTA experience.
• Basic computer skills; intermediate preferred.
• Therapy services knowledge, leadership and delegation experience.

• Must maintain valid driver’s license and be willing to travel to locations.

Responsibilities

• Assists Physical Therapist in patient treatment to restore function.
• Follow prescribed guidelines and procedures.
• Design individualized programs to improve or restore physical function and document progress.
• Assist with interventions to ensure patient safety.
• Comply with laws, safety and infection control standards.
• Perform routine equipment care and inventory checks.
• Maintain CPR/BCLS certification and effective communication with team.

Requirements

• Must maintain valid state physical therapist assistant license.
• Must possess basic computer skills; intermediate skills preferred.
• Must possess therapy services knowledge, leadership and delegation skills and experience.

• Must maintain a valid drivers license and have the ability to travel to company locations.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency is required. Prefer medical background such as MA or LPN.

Responsibilities

• Physical Therapist Assistant provides quality therapy services by assisting the Physical Therapist with the treatment of patients in order to restore them to their prior level of function.
• The Physical Therapist Assistant also must follow required guidelines.
• Individually designed programs of physical treatment are carried out to maintain, improve or restore physical function and alleviate pain in patients; appropriate and timely documentation of patient`s prognosis, treatment, goals, and response; education to stay informed on treatments and techniques to benefit the patient; establish and maintain channels of communication with nursing team and therapist.
• Assist with appropriate interventions (such as oxygen therapy via standing order) as necessary for patient safety.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.
• Perform routine equipment care and maintenance and inventory evaluation.
• Maintain current CPR or BCLS certification.
• Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of patients.
• Demonstrate appropriate social skills including effective verbal and written communication.
• Demonstrate ability to follow direction.
• Respond to study participant`s procedural-related inquiries by providing appropriate information.
