Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a Travel Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a 13-week assignment in Macon, GA. The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, assist with exercises, and educate patients on home programs. Start ASAP with dayshift, 5x8 hours, 13 weeks.

Required: PTA license and current BLS. Preferred: PTA program graduate; travel or clinical experience. Benefits include comprehensive coverage, and ongoing support from a clinical team.

Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• New grads welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuring devices and supplies are ready for patient sessions.
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and balance with hands-on assistance as needed.
• Observe patient performance and report progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record patient treatment details, progress, and any adjustments in the medical record.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe use of assistive devices.
• Collaborate with physical and occupational therapists and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety standards.
• Engage in quality assurance and professional development to stay current with best practices.
• Assist with discharge planning for smooth transitions to home or community settings.
