Job summary

UnitedHealth Group seeks a Travel Psychologist to conduct VA C&P Mental Health examinations on a mobile unit and provide objective medical opinions to veterans and active duty personnel.

This full-time, W-2 position requires nationwide travel (about 60% of the time). When not traveling, you’ll work from a home office performing telehealth exams and documentation. Ideal candidates hold a PhD/PsyD, an active license, and PTSD-focused experience; MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program.
• Active, unrestricted Psychologist license in any state.
• Experience identifying and diagnosing the full array of mental health disorders with emphasis in PTSD.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to travel across the U.S. up to 60%.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Mental Health C&P evaluations and medical opinions per VA guidelines.
• Review medical records and provide objective, evidence-based assessments.
• Complete standardized documentation and timely reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams as needed.
• Assist Senior/Deputy Medical Directors as SME on Mental Health DBQs and issue resolution.
• Back up the VA Mental Health Lead as required.
