Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Manchester, New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience and hold BLS, CPI, and MAB certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience
• BLS, CPI and MAB certifications required

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history and complete physical and mental health assessments
• Observe and report patient behavioral changes and assist patients in understanding the need for treatment
• Document patient information on medical charts and follow physician orders while maintaining confidentiality
• Plan nursing care by diagnosing medical and emotional status and recommending treatment options
• Consult with psychiatrists and behavioral health staff to design treatment plans
• Administer and record reactions to psychotropic drugs and arrange further medical attention when necessary
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients and monitor pain and vital signs
• Maintain records of treatments, immunizations and lab results; perform electronic progress notes
