Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Psychiatric for a travel nursing job in Westbrook, Maine. The position is a 12-week travel assignment with 36 hours per week, evenings shift, and includes a travel employment type.

The nurse will provide care to patients with emotional disturbances in Behavioral Health and Recovery Services under general supervision. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience, BLS certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced travel

Qualifications

1-2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience.
BLS certification required.
Travel nursing assignment; 12 weeks in length.

Responsibilities

Conduct intake assessments and complete physical and mental health assessments.
Observe and report patient behavioral changes; support treatment planning.
Document patient information in charts and follow physician orders.
Plan nursing care and recommend treatment options; coordinate with psychiatrists.
Administer medications and monitor responses; escalate as needed.
Maintain a safe environment and monitor vital signs; ensure proper pain management.
Maintain accurate records of treatments, immunizations, and labs.
Perform administrative duties including filing, calls, and progress notes.
