Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation seeks a Project Manager to lead water and wastewater design-build and construction projects nationwide. You will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, manage budgets and schedules, and coordinate with subcontractors and field teams to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years of PM experience in water/wastewater or industrial facilities, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel about half of the time.

Job description

We are partnered with a nationally recognized design-build contractor delivering complex infrastructure, industrial, and manufacturing projects across the United States. This opportunity is with a growing Water/Wastewater team focused on delivering design-build and construction projects for municipal and industrial water treatment facilities.

The Project Manager will oversee projects from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while managing budget, schedule, subcontractors, and overall project execution.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of water and wastewater construction projects from award through final turnover.
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining strong relationships and providing regular project updates.
  • Support preconstruction efforts including conceptual estimating, RFP responses, schedules, constructability reviews, and client presentations.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost codes, forecasting, and cost control systems.
  • Prepare bid packages, evaluate subcontractor proposals, negotiate awards, and issue purchase orders.
  • Coordinate project staffing requirements with field leadership, including Superintendents and Project Engineers.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules in collaboration with field teams and subcontractors.
  • Lead owner meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and internal project reviews.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement activities, permits, inspections, and project documentation.
  • Administer contract changes, negotiate change orders, and maintain accurate project financial reporting.
  • Review subcontractor pay applications, vendor invoices, schedules of value, and insurance compliance.
  • Partner with field leadership to ensure projects meet quality, safety, and contractual requirements.
  • Lead project closeout activities including punch list completion, owner turnover, commissioning support, and warranty management.
  • Mentor junior project management staff and contribute to the development of project teams.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience delivering water and wastewater treatment or industrial process facility projects.
  • Strong background in estimating, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, contract administration, and cost control.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, owners, engineers, and design teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50% or as project demands require.
  • Design-build project experience preferred
Location
