Job summary

MWH Constructors is seeking a Project Manager to lead water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant construction projects in the New England area. The role oversees project teams, budgets, schedules, and safety programs on diverse delivery methods, from CM-at-Risk to Design-Build to traditional approaches.

Ideal candidates have a 4-year degree and 7–10 years of experience in heavy civil or industrial construction, with 3–5 years on water/wastewater facilities.

Qualifications

  • 4-year engineering or construction management degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of construction, design, finance, and management experience on heavy civil or industrial projects.
  • 3–5 years of experience on water or wastewater plant projects.
  • Ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance.
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices and their impact on project activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid business acumen with proven judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and staff key field positions or subordinate project managers; coordinate staffing with US Operations and other Area department heads.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
  • Monitor and control construction through on-site managers and superintendents to ensure schedules and budgets are met; investigate situations and implement corrective actions.
  • Represent the company in project meetings and participate in labor negotiations/strategy meetings as needed.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, equipment rental, income/expenses) to protect the company’s interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Collaborate with project team to complete the Management Administration Plan and apply planning guidelines and tools throughout the project.
  • Ensure direct reporting employees follow safe work practices and company guidelines for safe execution of work.
  • Promote personal safety and the safety of others by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to project engineers, field engineers and superintendents.
  • Procure subcontractors and materials through purchase agreements and subcontracts.
  • Support Change Management, cost estimating, revenue and cost forecasting, and scheduling.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the Regional Director.

About the Role

MWH is seeking a qualified Project Manager to lead water, wastewater, and advanced water treatment plant construction projects for municipal and industrial clients in the New England area. Projects may use integrated delivery methods (CM-at-Risk or Design-Build) or traditional Design-Bid-Build and range in size from $20 million to $800 million.

Responsibilities
