Flagstar Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio. This role provides intermediate-acuity care in a Progressive Care Unit with telemetry and comprehensive monitoring responsibilities.

Responsibilities include continuous assessments, monitoring, medication administration, transport and discharge planning, collaboration with physicians and therapists, and maintaining a 3–4 patient ratio while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• BSN or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years progressive care experience.
• Valid Compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PCCN certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking and communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor intermediate acuity patients on telemetry and IV infusions.
• Perform thorough assessments and escalate promptly as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for discharge planning.
• Administer medications and wound care with accurate documentation.
• Maintain nurse-patient ratio of about 3–4 to ensure attentive care.
• Uphold safety standards and patient-centered care.

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Are you a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse seeking to make a meaningful impact in patient care? Join our team in the Progressive Care Unit, where you'll provide essential care to intermediate-acuity patients, many of whom are transitioning from intensive care environments. This role offers a dynamic, supportive atmosphere for experienced nurses dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage patients with intermediate acuity, including those on continuous cardiac telemetry, IV infusions, and supplemental oxygen.
• Conduct thorough assessments to identify clinical deterioration, initiating escalation protocols or rapid response measures promptly.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—such as physical therapy, case management, and physicians to ensure safe mobilization, effective discharge planning, and continuity of care.
• Administer medications, wound care, respiratory treatments, and other nursing interventions while ensuring accurate documentation.
• Maintain an optimal patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 3–4 patients to ensure attentive, personalized care.
• Uphold hospital policies and safety standards while providing compassionate, individualized attention to each patient.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive care experience in a hospital setting.
• Valid and current Compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications—required.
• PCCN certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and excellent communication abilities.

Shift & Schedule:

• Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3 days/week)
• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3 days/week)
