Job summary

AdventHealth in Colorado is seeking a PRN Surgical Technologist to support pre-operative care, specimen handling, instrument counts, and OR turnover. The role offers day shifts and a path to permanency within AdventHealth’s system.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of technical experience, CST certification (NBSTSA/State), and BLS/ACLS as required. This position is paid hourly, with a wide pay range depending on assignment and experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
• OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patients with supportive care during pre-operative phases.
• Collect and label specimens obtained during surgical procedures.
• Conduct instrument counts prior to surgical procedures.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Ensure the operating room is sterile and ready for procedures.
• Monitor and track instrument counts throughout procedures.
• Maintain surgical instruments in an organized manner.
• Assist the team with operating room turnover times.
