Job summary

Applegreen is hiring a Custodian to maintain cleanliness across travel plazas in Indiana. You will clean and sanitize restrooms, dining areas, and common spaces; manage waste and ensure floors are swept and polished.

The role requires the ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 40 pounds, and work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Ideal candidates will have cash handling and customer service experience, and a friendly, outgoing demeanor to interact with travelers

Qualifications

• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to interact with the public in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes cleaning chemicals, tools and equipment to complete tasks.
• Cleans toilets, walls, windows, worktables, refrigerators and other equipment as necessary.
• Removes trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs and buffs floors.
• Maintains a clean and organized lobby and dining area.
• Transfers supplies between storage and work areas by hand or hand truck.
• Loads and unloads supply trucks.
• Follows all security, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Demonstrates ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
