Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Traveling Pipefitter for a contract project in Newport News, VA. The ideal candidate has strong experience in marine, nuclear, or petrochemical piping and can read complex drawings to fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel systems.

The role requires travel, on-site work, and solid prep and fabrication skills, including end-prep, hanger installation, and beveling. Per-diem is provided where applicable.

Qualifications

• Three years or more of experience as a Pipefitter in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries.
• Ability to read and interpret ship piping drawings.
• Experience with carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping.

• End-prep piping by hand or using Portsmouth Machine.
• Install pipe hangers.
• Read a ruler using inches and tenths.

• Hand prep V bevels.
• Fabricate details and assemblies from drawings.
• Bend pipe from templates and use a hand bender.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Pipefitter with extensive experience in marine, commercial nuclear, or petro/chemical industries. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to interpret ship piping drawings and have proficiency in fitting carbon steel, CRES, and copper nickel piping.

• Fit carbon steel, CRES, and copper-nickel piping.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
