American Traveler, LLC. is seeking a Pediatric ICU RN for a 13-week day-shift assignment in California, requiring an active RN license and at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience.

The role features a 4x10 schedule, on-site work in a pediatric hospital, on-call requirements, and Epic charting. Benefits include travel and licensure reimbursements, housing assistance, and per diem options.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license or ETA for licensure posting.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric hospital experience.
• Minimum 1 year of critical care experience.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience for PICU/ED candidates (not required for Peds PACU).
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (AHA).
• Skilled in airway management, ventilator care, extubation, pain control, cardiac monitoring, fluid and electrolyte management, and discharge instructions.

Responsibilities

• PICU/PACU unit within a children's hospital setting.
• Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts with start times 10:30am–12:30pm.
• Possible standby/on-call based on department needs.
• Call requirements include one call shift per weeknight or every other weekend, plus one holiday call as needed.
• No floating to sister facilities.
• Not open to block scheduling.
• Uses Epic charting system.
• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU/PACU patients with NP ratios of 1:1-2 and discharge area ratios of 1:3-4.
• Facility is Level 1 trauma, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital with Beacon Award.
• Scrubs of any color accepted.
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
• Maximum RTO of 6 days must be confirmed upfront at submission.
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• Former permanent staff must be separated from employment for at least 1 year before traveling.
• Travelers who complete a full year at this facility or its sister facility must wait 90 days before returning as a traveler.
• Free traveler parking provided.
