Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Washington, DC. The PT will evaluate, develop, and execute plans of care for diverse patient populations in an acute care setting, collaborating with medical staff.

Requirements include 1 year of PT experience (6 months may be considered for exceptional candidates), BLS, and state licensure. Duties include supervising PTAs and documenting care, with 36 hours per week and day shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months PT experience; for exceptional candidates, 6 months may be accepted.
• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.
• PTs should stand/walk for long periods and have knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervising PTAs and therapy staff.
• Bill within the appropriate setting per facility guidelines.
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure a team-based plan of care.
• Evaluate and create a plan of care; modify as patient condition changes.
• Use hospital computer systems for daily tasks; document per state/insurance guidelines.

We are looking for a Physical Therapist (PT) for an immediate travel opening in Washington, DC. The right PT should have 1 year of experience; for an exceptional candidate with an appropriate background, 6 months of experience may be accepted. Read below for additional requirements. As a PT, you will be responsible for the evaluation, development, and execution of a plan of care for a variety of patient populations in the acute care setting.

Tasks

As a PT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:

• Oversee supervising PTAs, support staff (therapy technicians)
• Bill within the respective setting, following guidelines within settings for facility
• Understand the respective PT board's rules and regulations, complying within respective state
• Interface with Medical Center personnel and physicians to ensure team-focused plan of care
• Understand adaptive equipment
• Evaluate and create a plan of care
• Modify plan of care as indicated based on patient's condition
• Use Medical Center computer systems in performance of daily tasks
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines

Requirements

• Must have 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and state-specific licensing.
• Physical Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty.
• PTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
• BLS, 2 Years* Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
