Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment in Stanhope, New Jersey. The role includes working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in physical therapy
- Experience in physical therapy (new graduates welcome)
- Other relevant certifications or licenses
Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. The role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication, critical thinking, and a commitment to high‑quality, safe patient care.
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history to identify functional limitations and treatment needs.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate specialized physical therapy equipment and modalities safely and effectively.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and accurately document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
- Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication.
- Competent reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills.
Physical Abilities
- Remain in stationary position, move about; move equipment (50‑100 lbs); push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal Skills
- Work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) while maintaining a positive attitude.
Technical/Motor Skills
- Fine manipulation, push/pull, and assisted procedures using department equipment.
Mental Requirements
- Maintain focus under pressure, meet deadlines, and cope with frequent public contact.
- Work under close supervision occasionally, and independently as required.
- Handle irregular activity schedules and continuous concentration to detail.
Sensory Requirements
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills.
