Travel Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Nutley, New Jersey.
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist for a 27‑week travel assignment.
Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapy license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
- Doctorate degree in physical therapy (preferred).
- Physical Therapy experience – new graduates welcome.
- Other certifications or licenses may be required.
Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they create personalized, evidence‑based treatment plans using exercise and manual therapy.
Essential Work Functions
- Evaluate patients’ physical conditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, and patient history.
- Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based on assessment findings and patient goals.
- Implement treatment plans using various techniques to improve mobility and reduce pain.
- Operate and maintain physical therapy equipment and modalities safely.
- Assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and document evaluations, interventions, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, injury prevention, and self‑management.
- Maintain a safe treatment environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development.
- Collaborate in discharge planning for transitions to community or home settings.
Required Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication.
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- PC skills.
- Physical abilities: stationary, moving, handling equipment 50‑100 lbs, pushing, pulling, bending.
- Interpersonal: work effectively with various personnel.
- Technical: fine manipulation, assist with procedures, use equipment.
- Mental: cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines, work under supervision or independently.
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication.
