Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Alaska. Requires at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification.

Position includes 5x8 day shifts with some Saturdays, Epic EMR charting, and travel benefits. Housing allowance and travel reimbursements may apply. First-time travelers are accepted, with holiday coverage obligations and 50-mile residency requirements for travel rate eligibility.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of recent PT experience required.
BLS certification required.
Alaska PT license required if applicable.
Compact license must be active and in hand at time of consideration.
Epic EMR experience required.
Experience with orthopedic and neurologic patient populations including post-op joint and spine surgeries, stroke, and spinal cord injury preferred.

Responsibilities

Outpatient PT setting within an acute hospital.
5x8 day shift schedule.
Some Saturday shifts required.
No on-call requirements.
Epic EMR used for charting.
Facility is a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital.
Scrubs provided by facility.
Free on-site parking.
First-time travelers accepted.
Candidates must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays.
Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate.
Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the region.
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radius.
Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required.
Candidates must disclose any prior employment history with the health system, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles.
