Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a compassionate Travel Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients across a variety of clinical settings in Sheridan, WY. You will develop individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and maximize independence while adapting quickly to new environments.

The role requires a DPT, active PT license, and BLS certification, with preference for 1 year of PT experience.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Active Physical Therapist (PT) license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and patient mobility.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, manual therapy, and functional mobility interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, body mechanics, and safe mobility techniques.
• Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate continuity of care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and fulfill travel assignment requirements.
