Job summary

MedCadre is seeking a Travel Physical Therapist (PT) to evaluate and treat patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or disability. The PT will develop individualized plans to improve mobility, relieve pain, restore function, and maximize independence across diverse clinical settings.

Responsibilities include evaluations, plan development, therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, manual therapy, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications

• DPT or equivalent degree from an accredited PT program.
• Active PT license in the state of practice.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Physical Therapy experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of rehabilitation principles, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, patient mobility, and functional restoration.
• Excellent communication, critical-thinking, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance training, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility interventions.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, body mechanics, fall prevention, and safe mobility techniques.
• Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, orthotics, prosthetics, and adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge documentation in the EMR.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in discharge planning and coordinate continuity of patient care.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols, HIPAA regulations, patient safety standards, and facility policies.
• Adapt quickly to new facilities, workflows, and patient populations while maintaining high standards of clinical care.

• Strong adaptability and ability to integrate quickly into new clinical environments.
