Job summary

Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s Laboratory is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist (Travel) to perform patient registration, central processing and phlebotomy across outpatient, inpatient and nursing home settings. The role requires phlebotomy experience and reliable transportation to travel between sites.

The position offers a rotating schedule: M-F 5:30am-1pm, every third weekend, rotating holidays, with benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• 1–3 years of laboratory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required and automobile insurance proof.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and sort specimens.
• Draw blood using proper technique and ensure correct patient identification.
• Enter patient information and lab orders accurately into information systems.
• Centrifuge specimens, print labels, and manage specimen storage/retrieval.
• Prepare specimens for testing, build worklists, aliquot and check integrity.
• Maintain competency in all phlebotomy procedures and protocols.
• Travel to nursing homes to collect samples and transport specimens by vehicle.
• Phlebotomy in outpatient, inpatient, ED, and nursing home settings for all ages.
