Job summary

ExcelliSearch, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract assignment in North Charleston, SC and surrounding areas. The role requires travel to Mt.

Pleasant, West Ashley, Goose Creek, Summerville, Walterboro and other locations as needed. Expected duration is 3 months with potential to go permanent. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and transporting specimens, and maintaining accurate patient data.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Properly explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles; match laboratory requisition forms to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures; comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend trainings; answer inquiries.
