Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a contract welder in Atlanta, GA to perform high-precision structural and pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. You will read engineering drawings, select proper weld procedures, and work with a team to produce launch hardware that meets stringent codes and quality standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, workmanship, and adherence to safety and process guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail.
• Collaborate with welding team to ensure quality welds.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCAW, GMAW and SMAW welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Cut, trim, fit, and fabricate weldments to precise dimensions.
• Review drawings and plan welding operations.
• Prepare tubes/pipes for welding using fitting techniques.
• Ensure welds meet codes and standards; maintain safety and quality.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Support production of launch hardware on a fully onsite team.
