Job summary

Aerotek is seeking travel TIG welders for Houston project work on large industrial piping and structural steel for data center infrastructure. You will weld to ASME Section IX, read isometrics, and support installation, with emphasis on safety and compliant workmanship.

This contract-to-hire role offers a per diem and competitive hourly pay, with benefits and weekly pay as part of Aerotek’s workforce services across North America.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of welding large industrial piping/structural steel.
• GTAW (TIG) on stainless or SMAW on carbon steel.
• ASME Section IX qualification (6G) or ability to pass test.
• AWS D1.1 structural welding qualification.
• Ability to read isometric, spool, and structural drawings.
• Safe use of welding machines, torches, grinders, and hand/power tools.
• Strong safety mindset with LOTO/PPE adherence.
• Experience welding large-bore piping and heavy structural members.

Responsibilities

• Fit, tack, and weld large-bore piping and structural steel per drawings and WPS.
• Read and interpret drawings, weld maps and heat numbers.
• Support installation and hanging of structural members and weld packages.
• Maintain organized laydown yards and tool inventories.
• Follow safety rules and manage hot-work permits and LOTO.
• Report damaged materials and non-conformities promptly.
• Assist with NDE hold-point activities through turnover.
