Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pediatric Prep/Recovery (Phase I PACU) in Oregon. Requires an Oregon RN license, BLS, ACLS and PALS within 6 months, Epic charting experience, and at least 5 years of nursing with 2 years in Prep Recovery - Phase II.

Position is day shift, 36 hours per week (3x12s or 4x9s), with no nights, calls, or holidays. May float to nearby facilities; West Valley Hospital is the primary float location.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon RN license required.
• BLS (AHA) required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire for Prep/Recovery.
• PALS (AHA) required within 6 months of hire for Prep/Recovery and PACU.
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, including 2 years of Prep Recovery - Phase II experience.
• Minimum of 1 year acute PACU experience preferred.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Pediatric patient management experience required.
• Skilled in End-Tidal CO2 monitoring, airway assessment, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience with pre/post-op patient care, discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, and pre-op assessments and education.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care across the surgical services continuum, including Pre-Surgical Screening, Prep/Recovery, Operating Room, Endoscopy, and PACU
• Day shift schedule with start times between 0800-1000
• 36 hours/week scheduled as 3x12s or 4x9s depending on staffing needs
• No night shift, call, or holiday coverage required
• May be required to float within the facility or to nearby affiliated facilities, with West Valley Hospital (approximately 15 minutes away) as the primary float location
• Delivers Phase I recovery care to surgical patients, including pediatric cases
• Collaborates within a surgical services team across multiple specialty areas
• Required to complete up to 8 hours of non-billable training modules prior to start and annually thereafter
• Candidates may only be considered for one position within the health system at a time
• Former employees of the health system are not eligible for assignments until six months after their termination date
• RTO must be finalized at the time of consideration
• Block scheduling is not accommodated
