American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU for a Pediatric Intensive Care unit in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role requires an IN license, BLS/PALS, and strong critical care experience. Expect 3x12 shifts, nights, and a 13-week assignment with weekly pay and travel benefits.

The position offers 36 hours per week, with 12-hour nights and weekend requirements. Applicants must not be local to ICU roles and should be prepared for floating to related units as needed.

Qualifications

• Active IN license or compact license required before start.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from AHA or RQI.
• Minimum 18 months PICU experience.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and ventilator management.
• Graduate from ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program.
• No local candidates accepted for ICU positions.
• Two supervisor references required.

• Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00, with every other weekend.
• Floating to the cardiac stepdown unit and within the hospital or affiliate hospitals.
• RNs may be trained to float to CVPICU as needed.
• All travelers float within hospital and nearby affiliates.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an IN or compact RN license and strong critical care expertise.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 23-bed Pediatric Cardiac ICU with complex heart patients, VAD patients, and heart transplant program
• Assignment in a high-ranking unit for pediatric cardiac care
• Night shifts, 3x12-hour schedule from 19:00 to 07:00, with every other weekend required
• Floating required to the cardiac stepdown unit and within the hospital or affiliate hospitals
• No specific EMR charting system experience required, but Cerner is used
• First-time travelers are welcome
• RNs may be trained to float to CVPICU as needed
• All travelers are required to float within hospital and nearby affiliates
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday time off can be auto-approved; additional time off requires approval
• Must be away from permanent or PRN employment at the facility for at least 12 months prior to applying as a traveler
• Pre-start online learning modules must be completed before assignment begins
