American Traveler is seeking an experienced Travel RN for PCU/Telemetry in Springfield, Illinois. The role includes night shifts in a Level I trauma center with a 13-week assignment and 48 hours per week on 12-hour schedules.

Requirements include an active IL RN license, 1+ year tele-neuro-stepdown/PCU experience, BLS and NIHSS certifications, and proficiency in cardiac monitoring. Travel perks and a stipend are offered.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU, DOU, or IMC experience
• Current BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and rapid response participation
• Experience with post-cardiac procedures, sheath removal, and vascular/cardiac drips
• Proficiency in neuro, orthopedic, respiratory, plastic surgery, GI, genitourinary, IV, and medication administration within stepdown/PCU setting
• No first-time travelers accepted

Responsibilities

• Work in a PCU within a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital
• Care for telemetry, neuro stepdown, cardiac, surgical, orthopedic, respiratory, and trauma patients
• Night shifts, three or four 12-hour shifts per week (18:45–07:15)
• Floats within scope to meet facility needs
• Collaborate with rapid response and multidisciplinary teams
• Use Cerner EMR; charting system; experience preferred
• Provide advanced nursing care for stepdown-level and telemetry patients
• Be part of a teaching hospital environment
• Cover no more than 5 days of requested time off
• Parking permit provided at no cost
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restrictions
