Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN for a travel assignment in Boone, North Carolina. This PCU travel nurse position requires 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, with 36 hours per week and 12-hour night shifts.

The role involves close patient monitoring, medication administration, and rapid response to changes in vitals. The PCU nurse will work in a fast-paced setting, using monitoring equipment, IVs, and dressings, while coordinating care across the team and ensuring

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
• PCU/step-down experience preferred.
• Travel nursing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications with adverse-reaction reporting.
• Monitor and adjust patient equipment and interpret electronic data displays.
• Initiate corrective action when monitoring shows concerning symptoms.
