Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Newburgh, Indiana. As a PCU Travel Nurse, you will care for patients requiring close monitoring, use monitors to track vital signs, and respond to life-threatening changes.

The role emphasizes bedside care, IVs, dressings, and medication administration in a fast-paced PCU setting. Requirements include ACLS, BLS, NIH, and 1–2 years of recent acute care PCU experience.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1-2 years of recent PCU/acute care experience preferred.
• Ability to perform night-shift travel assignments in PCU.
• Experience with monitoring equipment and IV therapy a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor patient status using ECG and patient monitors; document findings.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and notify providers as required.
