Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a PCU travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Flint, Michigan. The role is a night shift, 12 hours, with a 36-hour work-week. Must have 1–2 years of acute care experience; BLS/ACLS are required.

The PCU focuses on cardiac step-down, with monitoring and frequent patient assessments. PCU travel nurses manage med administration, IV starts, dressings, and patient monitoring while coordinating care in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Travel nursing assignment typically 13 weeks with 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Monitor and adjust specialized monitoring equipment and interpret displays.
• Initiate corrective actions when monitoring indicates adverse symptoms.
