Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas. The PCU RN will monitor and care for patients requiring close observation but not ICU-level care, handle medications and IVs, and work a 12-hour night shift during a 13-week assignment.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience, BLS certification, and Kansas RN licensure. The role offers travel benefits and a tax-free stipend as part of the pay package.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• 2 years’ recent acute care experience is preferred.
• RN licensure is required for Kansas.
• NIH certification is not specified as a requirement beyond general certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize patients as needed.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor patient status with equipment and record vital information.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate as needed.
