Job summary

TotalMed RN in Charlottesville, Virginia is seeking a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN for a 14-week travel assignment. You will work 36 hours per week on a night shift, typically 12-hour shifts, caring for patients requiring close monitoring who are not in ICU.

Requirements include 1–2 years of acute care experience and certifications such as BLS and ACLS. The PCU RN may be called a step-down nurse and will monitor cardiac equipment, administer medications, and respond quickly to changes in

Qualifications

• 1–2 years acute care experience required.
• PCU/stepdown certification or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Administer prescribed meds and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Monitor specialized equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Respond to changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
