Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel RN for a MedSurg/Progressive Care Unit assignment in Bloomington, Indiana. The RN must hold IN or compact licensure and bring PCU/MedSurg experience. Duties include float responsibilities, caring for CV surgery, oncology, and cardiology patients, and working 12‑hour day shifts.

The role requires Cerner charting experience, ACLS/BCLS, and willingness to work every other weekend and holidays. Travel perks apply; housing/licensure reimbursements offered.

Qualifications

• Active IN or Compact RN license required.
• Minimum 18 months PCU/MedSurg nursing experience.
• ACLS and BCLS certifications required or willing; both accepted.
• ACLS/BCLS: AHA or RQI accepted.
• Degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
• Experience with dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery, TAVI/TAVR, arterial lines, transfusions, central/PICC care, and vasoactive drips.
• Cerner charting experience required.
• Locals not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Work in a PCU with a mix of MedSurg patients.
• Care for CV surgery, thoracic, cardiology, endocrine, and oncology patients.
• Float within hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed.
• Be comfortable with PCU and MedSurg patient acuity and duties.
• Day shift: 12 hours, 7:00–19:30; 4x12 or 3x12 options.
• Every other weekend shift required.
• Use Cerner EMR; previous experience required.
• No on-call responsibilities.
• Provide nursing care to mixed acuity cardiac/med-surg populations.
• Private rooms with overhead lifts and telemetry; free parking onsite.
• Must float within scope to meet facility needs.
