Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a PACU Registered Nurse (RN) for travel assignments in Washington, DC. The PACU RN cares for patients recovering from anesthesia, monitors vital signs, and ensures safe emergence from anesthesia.

This role requires current RN licensure and appropriate certifications per contract, with travel benefits and weekly pay. Responsibilities include continuous monitoring, prompt response to sedation changes, and collaboration with perioperative teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN licensure in the practicing state.
• PACU experience preferred (1 year).
• CPAN or CAPA certification preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required per contract.
• CPR certification where applicable.
• TB screening/PPD or chest X-ray as required.
• Current health certificate per contract or state regulations.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Observe and treat patients recovering from anesthesia in PACU.
• Monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness during emergence.
• Ensure safe awakening and detect adverse reactions.
• Collaborate with perioperative teams to provide quality care.
