Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PACU - Post Anesthesia Care for a travel nursing job in Norfolk, Virginia. The PACU RN will monitor post‑operative patients, assess recovery from anesthesia, and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe transfers to the next care area.

Requirements include ACLS, BLS, PALS and 1–2 years of acute care experience. The assignment is 13 weeks, 40 hours per week, with 8‑hour day shifts and travel employment.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications are required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• PACU RN with ability to monitor post-anesthesia recovery.

Responsibilities

• Observe and care for post-op patients as they recover from anesthesia.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and report to physicians.
• Determine when patients are recovered and ready for transfer.
• Coordinate with surgical teams for patient movement.
