Job summary

HealthForce Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Canton, Georgia, providing PACU/OR perioperative and immediate post-anesthesia care. Start date is 11/16/2026 for 13 weeks, with 40 guaranteed hours per week and a consistent 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

shift from Monday to Friday. The role demands strong critical care skills, the ability to work in a high-acuity surgical recovery environment, and adherence to holiday coverage requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PACU/OR RN experience.
• BLS and ACLS required.
• Ability to work Mon–Fri 5:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m. and meet holiday coverage requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative and immediate post-anesthesia nursing care in the PACU, including monitoring airway, breathing, circulatory status, and hemodynamics
• Assess patient condition on arrival from the OR, document observations, and adjust care plans in collaboration with the surgical team and anesthesia providers
• Administer prescribed medications, manage pain and nausea, and respond to emergent situations with appropriate interventions
• Monitor vitals, oxygenation, drainage, and wound status; maintain patient safety and comfort while promoting rapid, safe recovery
• Communicate with surgeons, anesthesia, circulating nurses, and unit staff; document care accurately in the medical record and ensure clear handoffs
• Prepare and transfer patients to appropriate postoperative units or discharge as indicated by recovery status
