Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct post-anesthesia recovery care for PACU patients.
• Monitor patient status, assess pain, and respond to changes per orders.
• Administer medications and manage IV access and drains as applicable.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons and nursing staff; document handoffs.
• Document assessments and outcomes in Cerner EMR.
• Support higher-acuity cases and maintain unit safety and throughput.
• Participate in holiday coverage and ensure continuity of care across cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct post-anesthesia recovery care for PACU patients, including airway management and vital sign surveillance
• Monitor patient status, assess pain levels, and respond to changes in condition; intervene per physician orders
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed; manage IV access and drains as applicable
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, and other nursing staff; communicate patient status during handoffs
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the Cerner electronic medical record
• Support higher-acuity cases as assigned and maintain unit safety, infection control, and patient throughput
• Participate in unit workflow during holidays and ensure continuity of care for thoracic, orthopedic, neurology, vascular, urology, and general surgery cases
