Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist Assistant for a 13‑week assignment in Big Spring, Texas. The OTA will provide therapy services under supervision, with 40 hours per week and a typical 8‑hour day schedule.

State licensure and current BLS/NBCOT (COTA) certification are required for this travel position. The role emphasizes documentation, patient education, and collaboration with the therapy team to maintain high standards of care and patient independence.

Qualifications

• 1 year of OT/Aide field experience required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• NBCOT (COTA) certification and state licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT to support treatment plan adjustments.
• Document patient performance and progress accurately and in a timely manner per facility and state guidelines.
• Assist patients with exercises, mobility training, and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on techniques to improve independence in daily activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support coordinated care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and adhere to facility and professional standards.
