Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapy Assistant for a travel assignment in Salinas, California. The OTA will work under the supervision of an OT to help patients develop, improve, or recover daily living skills.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of OTA experience, current BLS and NBCOT (COTA) certification, and state licensure. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Current BLS and NBCOT (COTA) certification.
• State licensure required.
• Ability to lift and assist patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic activities and interventions as directed by the supervising OT.
• Monitor patient progress and report observations to the OT.
• Document patient performance and progress per guidelines.
• Assist with exercises, mobility training and use of adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients and families on daily living techniques.
• Maintain treatment areas and equipment cleanliness.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to support care.
• Comply with state licensing rules and standards.
