Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Occupational Therapist for a 13-week assignment in Escanaba, MI. The role is 40 hours per week, with 8-hour daytime shifts. Immediate opening; 1 year of OT experience preferred, 6 months may be considered for strong candidates.

Must hold BLS and NBCOT-OTR and state licensing. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, creating treatment plans, educating families and employers, and documenting progress per guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience; however, new grads are encouraged to apply.
• Must have BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing.

Responsibilities

• Review patients’ medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's condition and needs.
• Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals.
• Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks.
• Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and, on the basis of the patient's health needs, identify potential improvements.
• Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient.
• Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment.
• Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines.
