Job summary

Surgical Solutions is seeking full-time Traveling Technicians to join our team and support hospital implementations nationwide. This high-travel role requires living within 45–60 minutes of a major airport with strong flight access.

Expect to travel across assigned territories, support OR and sterile processing operations, onboard new technicians, and maintain instrument decontamination and equipment. CRCST/CBSPD certification is required with 90%+ travel.

Qualifications

• CRCST or CBSPD certification required; if CBSPD certified, must obtain CRCST within 120 days of employment.
• Previous OR/SPD experience required.
• High school diploma/GED required; some college preferred.
• Outstanding customer service skills and ability to build rapport with healthcare teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs.
• Flexibility for 24/7 hospital coverage including weekday, weekend, holiday rotations, and on-call shifts.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 90% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Travel across assigned territories to support new hospital accounts in both the operating room and sterile processing departments.
• Execute the project plan for successful implementation of new accounts.
• Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with hospital personnel, surgeons, nurses and OR staff.
• Help onboard new Technicians, orienting them to relevant hospital protocols and procedures. Provide on-the-job training for new hires and/or re-training for current staff.
• Ensure the highest standards of decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
• Maintain laparoscopic equipment, manage repairs, and replace instruments as needed.
• Keep surgeon preference cards up to date.
• Demonstrate professionalism in service, communication, and teamwork with Surgical Solutions, hospital, and OR personnel.
• Maintain CRCST certification and comply with all credentialing and training requirements.
• Lead by example in daily operations to support operational workflows. Share best practices to help teams integrate digital tools smoothly.
