Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Abilene, Texas. This role requires 18 months of Acute Care Surgery experience, an active RN license, and a nursing degree. BLS and ACLS certifications are required, with client-specific requirements to follow.

The assignment is travel-based with a 13-week duration, 40 hours per week, day shifts, and full travel accommodations including housing or housing allowance and benefits.

Qualifications

• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Surgery setting.
• Active RN License.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS & ACLS Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical patient care by assessing, planning, and implementing the nursing care patients receive before, during and after surgery.
• The OR nurse / OR RN also serves as patient educator, circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse.
• Circulating OR nurses work within the operating suite but outside of the sterile field.
• Scrub OR nurses handle and prepare operating instruments and equipment within the sterile field.
