Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse in Abilene, TX for a 13-week assignment. The role focuses on circulating, scrub, and potentially RN First Assistant duties in a 12-hour day shift, with a travel employment type and 36 hours weekly.

BLS and 1–2 years acute care OR experience are expected. The RN will support physicians and staff across the surgical care continuum, including pre- and post-op education, instrument handling, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed.
• Travel assignment with 13-week duration and 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and administer prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patient families and the operating team.
• Ensure procedures are performed on the correct patient and educate on post-op care.
• Support circulating and scrub roles and assist RN First Assistant as needed.
