Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing in Akron, OH is seeking a travel Operating Room RN for a 13-week assignment, delivering perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical setting. You will support the surgical team, prepare the OR, ensure sterile technique and patient safety, and work 12-hour daytime shifts.

The role requires OR RN experience, an active RN license, and BLS certification. This travel position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a dedicated clinical team to support your travel

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of recent experience as an Operating Room RN
• Valid RN license compliant with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for each procedure
• Assists in patient positioning and preparation for surgery ensuring comfort and safety
• Maintains a sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols
• Anticipates surgical team needs, providing instruments and supplies promptly
• Monitors patient condition during surgery and notifies the surgeon of changes
• Handles instruments and supplies, ensuring proper use, sterilization, and disposal
• Documents perioperative patient care accurately and thoroughly
• Participates in patient handoff communications before and after surgery
• Cleans and restocks the operating room between cases per turnover protocols
• Ensures policy compliance and PPE usage throughout procedures
• Performs other duties within scope of practice
