Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Akron, Ohio. This role requires OR experience and duties include assisting in the OR, pre- and post-operative care, and patient education.

Travel RN assignments are 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour day shifts. Immediate openings exist for circulating, scrub, and RN first assistant roles. Benefits and pay are provided by TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience as an OR nurse.
• Experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Able to stand for long shifts; 12-hour days.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care.
